4 Ingredient Matcha Latte

How To Make The 4 Ingredient Matcha Latte from TikTok

Prep Time: 4 Minutes
Serving Size: 1 Cup

If you’ve ever had a good matcha latte then you understand the delicious, smooth taste you are expecting in that first sip. Its perfectly logical for you to expect a certain experience when drinking a matcha latte. Its also very normal that the matcha you receive from coffee shops is quite different than you expect. Without going too deep into the grading system of matcha, many shops prioritize minimizing cost versus maximizing customer experience. This often leads to shops selling culinary grade (meant for cooking and baking) in their matcha drinks. The texture is a bit grittier and the color is a bit more pale – both signifying the lower quality.

Lets be honest though, many people get the “green drink” for cute instagram photos, but actually don’t like it. Its not “matcha’s fault” as a whole, but the specific matcha being used often creates the bad experience. If you’ve ever had a matcha latte from one of the shops using our ceremonial grade matcha, you’re one of the lucky ones. With RW Golden Ceremonial Grade matcha, you can expect quality delivered consistently.

How To Home Brew The Perfect Matcha Latte

You don’t need fancy equipment, expensive ingredients or need to be a trained barista to make a delicious matcha latte at home. With four simple ingredients, you can impress your taste buds. This includes those of your friends who said you can’t cook. Follow this simple Step-by-Step guide and you’ll earn the title of “Matcha King/Queen” in your circles in no time.

Ingredients Needed

•Milk (Oat, Almond, Coconut). Dairy also works but doesn’t accentuate the flavor profile of the matcha. For more on this check out our article on The Best Milk for Matcha Lattes. – 3/4 Cup
•RW Golden Ceremonial Grade Matcha Power. Ceremonial Grade matcha is the highest consumer grade matcha available. – 2-3 grams
•Pure Maple Syrup (This can be swapped with Pure Honey for a different matcha experience) – 1 tbsp
•Hot Water (160º – 180ºF). Water hotter than 180ºF will burn the tannins in the matcha and can only be “saved” with artificial sweeteners that cancel out any potential health benefits. – 2 ounces

*All of these ingredients were carefully selected for being anti-inflammation or rich in antioxidants as our mission is to Fix America’s Inflammation Problem.

Step-by-Step Guide For The Delicious 4 Ingredient Matcha Latte

  1. Add 2-3 grams of RW Golden matcha powder into a glass measuring cup. Note: It can be plastic but being able to see through it helps
  2. Using an electric frother wand (not turned on), mix up the powder while trying to break up any clumps.
  3. Pour 1-1.5 ounces of hot water into your measuring cup with the powder. Without turning on the frother wand, mix it again. Try to get any powder that stuck to the sides of the measuring cup off.
  4. Turn on the frothing wand and mix the water and matcha until there are no clumps left over. Note: This can be done with a spoon or whisk, but may take a bit longer.
  5. In your drinking cup, add 3/4 of a cup of milk and a handful of ice.
  6. Combine the matcha from the measuring cup and the milk from your drinking glass together. At this point you will have your matcha, milk and ice in your drinking cup.
  7. Sweeten to taste. We recommend 1 tablespoon (15mL) of pure maple syrup into your drinking glass and stir.

You’ve now got a delicious, high-quality matcha latte at home. You can make this in minutes, at a fraction of the cost.

Golden Matcha Elixir

How To Make A Golden Matcha Elixir

Prep Time: 5 Minutes
Serving Size: 1 Serving

Ingredients

3g RW Golden Ceremonial Grade Matcha Powder
1 cup of Milk (Oat, Almond, Coconut)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp ground ginger
A pinch of black pepper (to enhance turmeric absorption)
A dash of cinnamon (for flavor and anti-inflammatory benefits)
Optional: 1 tsp honey or agave syrup

*All of these ingredients were carefully selected for being anti-inflammation or rich in antioxidants as our mission is to Fix America’s Inflammation Problem.

Directions

Step 1

Warm the Milk: Gently heat your choice of milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Don’t let it boil; you want it warm, not hot.

Step 2

Mix Matcha: Sift matcha into a small bowl. Add a small amount of warm milk (about 2 tablespoons) to the matcha, and whisk until a smooth paste forms. This prevents lumps when mixing with the rest of the milk.

Step 3

Combine Ingredients: Add the turmeric, ginger, and black pepper to the warm milk in the saucepan. Stir well.

Step 4

Incorporate Matcha: Pour the matcha paste into the saucepan with the spices. Whisk everything together until well combined and frothy.

Step 5

Flavor and Sweeten: If using, stir in the honey or agave syrup until dissolved. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Step 6

Serve: Pour into a cup. You can serve it warm for a comforting drink or chill it for a refreshing summer option.

Health Benefits:

  • Anti-Inflammatory Effects: Both matcha and turmeric contain compounds known for their anti-inflammatory properties. Matcha’s EGCG and turmeric’s curcumin work synergistically to reduce inflammation[^1][^2].
  • Antioxidant Rich: Matcha is renowned for its high antioxidant content, which can help combat oxidative stress, linked to aging and various diseases[^3].
  • Brain Health: L-theanine in matcha, combined with the calming effects of turmeric and ginger, could promote relaxation while enhancing cognitive function[^4].
  • Digestive Aid: Ginger has a long history of use for digestive issues, potentially aiding in reducing bloating and aiding digestion[^5].
  • Immune Support: The combination of these ingredients might bolster the immune system. Turmeric boosts the immune response, while matcha’s catechins can also support immune health[^6].
  • Blood Sugar Regulation: Turmeric and matcha have been studied for their potential in improving insulin sensitivity and managing blood sugar levels[^7][^8].

Why It Works:

The Golden Matcha Elixir marries the health benefits of matcha with those of turmeric, ginger, and a dash of black pepper to enhance the bioavailability of curcumin. This drink provides a warm, soothing beverage with a rich taste profile, perfect for those looking to incorporate health-boosting ingredients into their daily routine.

Note: While this drink offers potential health benefits, it should be part of a balanced diet and lifestyle for optimal health outcomes. Always consult with a healthcare provider before making significant changes to your diet, especially if you have existing health conditions or are on medication.

1 egg
Cooking Spray/ Oil

Step 5

Let the batter sit and turn your griddle/ cook top on. Spray with cooking oil or coat with a thin layer of oil. Ensure the entire area that the pancakes will be cooked is coated.

Step 6

Using a cup, scoop the batter from the bowl and pour it onto the cooking area. depending on the size, you will have the gauge where to pour the batter. You want to pour the batter so it is about 4-5″ in diameter.

Step 7

Wait until you see the batter create air bubbles that are beginning to pop near the surface before you flip the pancakes to cook the other side. This will create a fluffy, tasty pancake!

Optional

Fruit goes very well with matcha pancakes so feel free to add it to the final product for a tasty new flavor!

Recommendation

In the name of anti-inflammation, use maple syrup on your pancakes if possible!
